The Malta Communications Authority (MCA), together with the Parliamentary Secretary for the Rights of Persons with Disability and Active Ageing (PSDAA), within the Ministry for the Family, Children’s Rights and Social Solidarity (MFCS – DAACC), have teamed up to deliver ICT training to individuals who are 55 years of age and over.  The MCA will be providing basic ICT training, which will consist of an eight hour course on basic internet and common popular applications used. The aim of this initiative is to target elderly people in the community who have a basic command of the literacy / numeracy skills, via the traditional Active Ageing Centers (AACs) around Malta and Gozo. Training courses are offered free of charge and throughout the training, each attendee will be provided with a tablet for hands on practice. Lessons are held on a weekly basis within the Active Ageing Centers and are delivered by qualified Tutors appointed by MCA.
