Following a consultation which was issued in July 2014, the MCA is publishing a decision entitled ‘Decision on the Wholesale Access to Data and the Provision of Publicly Available Directory Information Services’.

This decision addresses the need for clarity and harmonisation on the elements of consent required to be given by subscribers to have their personal data made available for directory information services. It also lists the prerequisites that need to be met by an authorised directory information service provider to be in a position to request telephony providers share this data for directory information services.
