Additional allocation of radio frequencies to the Amateur Radio Service - NOTICE

The Malta Communications Authority (the Authority) notifies that it has received a request from the local radio amateur community to make available spectrum in the 70 MHz frequency band for amateur radio services.
 
Further to this request the Authority intends to make recommendations to Government on the allocation of the frequency range between 70.0 MHz and 70.5 MHz to the amateur service in the National Frequency Plan.  This new allocation will be on a secondary basis.
 
The Authority is seeking the public’s input in respect of this proposed allocation.
 
Any submissions are to be received in writing by the Chief of Spectrum Management & Technology, on email address spectrum@mca.org.mt by not later than 4.00 p.m. on Thursday, 29 May 2014.
 
If no valid objections to the proposed frequency allocation are raised by this date, the authority will proceed as indicated above.
