12 local enterprises recognised for innovative use of ICT in Business

The MCA yesterday hosted its 3rd edition of the eBusiness awards. During this event it recognised twelve enterprises which have successfully implemented or developed innovative ICT solutions. These awards have become an important showcase for local entrepreneurship, innovation, investment and business acumen in the eBusiness field. 

Eighteen finalists were selected out of 35 applications by an independent adjudicating panel representing members from industry, Government and academia.  The Authority is pleased to note that participants represented a wide spectrum of industries and technologies, with businesses ranging from self employed individuals to some of the largest companies in Malta. The winners were presented with their awards during a ceremony and networking event held at the Phoenicia Hotel.

The MCA congratulates all the participants and in particular the finalists and winners for their quality submissions.  These real-life examples serve to set a standard for eBusiness in Malta and should encourage more businesses to adopt a more proactive approach in the use of ICT.

New to this year’s event, is a special award to acknowledge the efforts of a student who has excelled in an area of research related to eBusiness. Ms. Anne Marie Bajada, who completed an MBA in eBusiness with the University of Malta was awarded for her dissertation titled ‘Driving along the Cyber Highway – an end-users’ perception of security and privacy in today’s digital society’.

SmartCity Malta supported the MCA in this event and presented the award for the best Business-to-Business Application.
